Birthday Wishes

I turn 26 at end of the week. It is surreal that I am celebrating a birthday in Haiti- even more so that it is happening while this relief effort swirls around me.

I have a birthday request. I don't need any things, and I am not fundraising for myself. I am asking that for my 26th birthday you donate $26.00 USD to the QCS relief fund.

$26 pays for a translator for a week.
$26 pays the salaries of the guards and grounds staff who keep us running.
$26 helps rebuild the homes of our Haitian staff.
$26 buys medical supplies that we are using to fight off infection.

I know that many times sending money feels empty. You would rather come yourself, or send a care package, or ship medical supplies, but what we need- what the relief center at the school needs- is money.

Since we have arrived in Haiti, I have not made a special request for donations. God has blessed our personal ministry with the generosity of so many. I am asking now for a blessing for the relief center itself.

The donate button is on the left!

  1. Happy Birthday Ben!
We're still praying for you guys. I've made donation to QCS. It's nice to see physically the help that it may provide on this blog!

  2. Also I've tweeted and going to blog about you guys, I hope you get to see more help that way!

  3. We wouldn't miss an opportunity to celebrate your birthday and support Quisqueya!

    Happy Birthday, Ben!!

  4. I'm reminded of a line in the movie "As Good As It Gets". Jack Nicholson says, "You make me want to be a better person." Feliz Cumpleanos (sp?) to all the birthday folks.

  5. My husband and I are sending 4 "birthday presents" to QCS. I'm also tweeting about you guys.

    Happy Birthday, Ben! :-)

  6. Happy Birthday Ben! -Paul & Janna Bowling

  7. It's a blessing to send birthday wishes in honor of you. Thank you for all you are doing...for answering the call and not running when it got tough. Praying for you and Katie daily.
